I couldn't go to a doctor to get it checked out because my insurance only allows me one visit per year. Eventually it went away and hasn't been back since. But I've noticed some white stuff on the inside of my cheeks, sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. I have also noticed a red and white patch on an area of my gums near my wisdom tooth. A couple days ago it was there and I looked in the mirror this morning and it was gone. I've had an STD test done by my GYN but it was vaginally and came up clean.
I just went to the dentist a couple months ago and I figured if my hygenist had noticed anything wrong she would of said something. I have a doctor's appointment scheduled a couple weeks from now, and I intend to bring it up. I'm just afraid my doctor won't take me seriously. Do I really have something to worry about or am I just being paranoid...?
Honestly? It sounds like strep throat. You really need to be careful with that kind of thing because if left untreated, strep throat can progress into a more serious illness or even a heart infection. It does not sound like HPV at all because you're not describing warts of any kind. I would absolutely bring it up though...And consider getting different insurance.
