What's Going on With me?

So i graduated High School in June 2012. Since then I tried to go to college but I hated it! So I Decided to get a Job. When I did that i didnt have luck at all. I only work saturdays, and i spend my days here at home. This isnt my only problem. I also have been really down. Ive been sad all the time, I lost interest in things that were once important to me, Like going to the gym. And i started to gain weight again. What should i do? I just feel like nothings worth it, and i don't have that motivation to move on. Please girls.....HELP!:smileysad:

Sounds like you're really just not doing anything. Working one day a week isn't even considered part-time. That's basically a hobby. Look around and try to find a real full-time job. Waitressing, nannying, sales associate, dental assistant, pharmacy technician, etc...There are about a thousand jobs you could have right now that would give you an actual hours with an actual salary.

You need to figure out what you need to do to support yourself. College isn't for everyone, but you can't live off your parents forever either. Want your life to look different? Make it happen. If you sit around on the couch all day wishing your life was something else, you'll never get there. Get off the couch and go job hunting for the other 6 days a week you're not doing anything. It's not like you don't have the time! Want to lose weight? GO BACK TO THE GYM.

Literally all of your problems are within your control. The only one standing in your way is YOU.

Your right girl thanks. ! i think that was the reply i needed to hear. Only for pharmacy tech, dental assistant and etc, i need to go to a technical school. I've checked it out trust me but the tuition fees were extremely high!

Re: What's Going on With me?

I don't think so. My aunt didn't go to college or anything like that and she's worked as a Pharm Tech for awhile. You can get a technical certificate, but it's not required. Same for being a dental assistant. It does vary from state to state, but you could at least go and ask around!

Is there anything you're particularly good at or you really like a lot? Don't think about it in terms of jobs...just brainstorm things you like or you're good at. Maybe we can brainstorm some out-of-the-box ideas?

Are you kidding?! Those are actually VERY useful skills to have!

So, last summer I worked at this company that helped senior citizens downsize and move into retirement communities. If you could get good hours, it was actually great work. It's a growing industry--baby boomers getting older and all that--so maybe do a search for companies like that. It doesn't have to be for senior citizens either. Tons of companies out there help people organize their stuff. You could actually have a career as a "Professional Organizer." Even better: No degree required and I found postings on "6 Figure Jobs" which is for jobs that pay more than 100K!

http://www.napo-ny.net/beFAQ.shtml  This link has information on how to become a Professional Organizer.

You could try looking for a secretary job too! That's a lot of organizing and that kind of thing. It would be steady hours and decent pay.

Also, what do you think about being an event planner? I'm almost 100% sure that doesn't require a degree. It wouldn't exactly be organizing/cleaning, but it's similar. Maybe even a wedding planner? I always thought that sounded cool.

Do you like books/reading? You could always get a job at a library.

These are just a few ideas...most of my searches came up with "Professional Organizer" so I think that would be a great thing to look into! :smileyhappy: What do you think?

Re: What's Going on With me?

No problem lovely!

Sometimes you just need a place to start :smileyhappy:

And hey--Even if some of these jobs don't work out, at least you tried. I saw this thing online that says "My resume is really just a list of jobs I never want to do again" and I think it can be true sometimes. I think that's what it's supposed to be when you're our age. You try some and fail some and figure out what you want to do.
