Hey Gurls!
I'm a freshman in college and I've been going to this University and everything has been going okay academically. But socially its been.. 
When I first came down here, I met a few new other students through my family, orientation and through my roommate. I'm already kinda shy but in those situations the other person asked to exchange numbers and they seemed really cool and all. The only problem is that I'm really bad and awkward at communicating with new people. I always wait until the other person texts me first (which most of the time never happens). And when I do text a new a person, I wait a long time before I do (like 1-2 weeks) because I'm contemplating whether or not does this person really wants to hear from me. (plus they already have their clique anyway) By that time, the person barely remembers me or doesn't texts me back & its hella awkward.... Anyway, I've gone through classes and met people but haven't made "friend" friends. My dorm floor is very social, yet I don't feel like I fit in. I just joined this Council to improve a freshman course but it only meets once every other week and everyone is all about work and rarely ever socialize to just socialize. I'm sorry to ramble....but tonight was one of the biggest parties of this year and I didn't have anyone to go with and it sucks butt to hear people rave about it. I sometimes hang out with my roommate who thinks I'm hilarious (So something must be right about me 
) but she always hang out with her boyfriend and never wants to go out to parties, events and such and I absolutely despise going to places alone!!!! I just want friends but I'm so damn awkward that people don't see the real me!!! As much as college is about getting a "good education"- I need friends to go out with & keep me somewhat sane. Someone suggested that I use twitter to connect with people....but I feel awkward on social networks too...GOSH!! I just want to know if anyone has any tips for me? Thanks!!
