You are perfectly normal, don't you worry. When your body image is low, don't dwell on the parts you feel should be different, instead look at the parts that you love about yourself. It's a good technique to distract yourself and should give you an instant confidence booster.

Two of my friends have a quote they put by their mirrors. So that when they look in the mirror, they have a cute little quote to remind them of their beauty, not just their physical beauties, but their inner qualities as well, "A beautiful, modest, gracious woman is creation's masterpiece."

You could try it out for yourself: look for a quote you like, one that makes you happy and makes you feel good about yourself, then place a copy next to your mirror.

I hope it works out for you! Every girl deserves to feel beautiful and comfortable with her beauty. Much love :smileyhappy:

Re: normal weight for an 5ft 3in girl?

Definitley normal! In fact I am the same height, and that weight that I feel that I look my best at, and am trying to get back to after gaining a couple pounds. But even now, I still can find ways to feel positive about myself, since I can still fit into most of my clothes, and a fat person wouldn't be able wear a size 2/4. Even when I'm feeling fat, I remember that around 30% (maybe even more) Americans are clincally obese, and Im not anywhere near there, and neither are you. Sure, that sounds mean, but it shows that even if my body isn't as perfect as I'd like it to be, I'm healthy. Just focus on the parts of your body that you like, and ignore what you don't, until you can either change them in healthy way, or learn to accept what you thought you wanted to change.  Right now, my tummy isn't as flat as I'd like it to be, but I'm satisfied with the rest of my curves, so I just embrace that part. It took me a while to learn how to do that, but now it works. It's not easy to change your mindset, but when you do its really powerful and rewarding.

Re: normal weight for an 5ft 3in girl?

I am 4 foot 9 inches and I weigh 120lbs, and I don't think I am fat, I am definitely not super skinny, but not fat, And neither are you! I hate the way the media makes girls think they NEED to look like these rail thin models and actresses, they are honestly disgusting, who wants to look like they are starving?!

I used to weigh around 90-95lbs when I was in high school, and for a while the added weight made me feel terrible, but I am okay with it now, and I actually like the way I look more with the added weight than without. A big thing is don't go around comparing yourself to other girls, or looking at these skinny girl pictures on the internet, looking like that is extremely unhealthy, and honestly most guys don't even like when a girl looks like that.

Sometimes I start to get these feelings like I need to do something about my weight and be like I used, and I just feel like I don't look good, but the feelings always happens once a month and it correlates with my period, and its ususlly when i am bloated so I know its just the hormones talking,
