Problems ''down there''. Should I tell my mom? Should I tell my doctor?

[ Edited ]
I keep trying to stick menstrual cups and tampons in my vagina during my period because I've always wanted to try them. Problem is, no matter how I try to stick these things in, or where I stick them in around the area, it hurts and they just won't go in!

So last night, I finally tried to do it again with a mirror in my hand so I can see things better, and saw that I can't seem to do it because I saw a little bright pink, ball-like, thing in the opening where I think my tampon/menstrual cup would go...

I looked it up online and I suspect I either have a imperforate hymen or a microperforate hymen, but I'm not completely sure....

How can I have this ''talk'' with my mom? When my younger sister brought up the topic of tampons, I think I lied to my mom, saying that I CAN put in tampons when I actually can't :smileysad:

I want myself fixed so I can swim and do other things, even when I'm on my period. I still menstruate, if that's what you're about to ask me.

Help? Mature answers only, please.

If Re: Problems ''down there''. Should I tell my mom? Should I tell my doctor?

If your mum offers to buy you them, or brings up the subject, just casually mention "I dont really use them to be honest, they just wont work, whatever I do! Maybe I should get it checked out, a friend had this issue and got it sorted out" or something like that, just be casual about it, but in a way that she will be concerned :smileyhappy: x

Well, I guess that's one way around it. Anyone else? I know, TMI, but yea?

well i would definately tell my mom about the little "pink ball" like thing. You never know what it could be and yes its awkward or embarassing, however you feel about the situation, but its better safe than sorry.

like 3 months ago i had some really weird like painful areas down there and it got so bad to the point where it hurt to walk or pee or even to stand up out of my chair! So i finally told my mom because it hurt so bad one night and we went to the doctors and i ended up in the hospital and they ran all sorts of tests on me, i ended up staying in the hospital for a month. They finally found an answer and it turned out it was Buchetes Disease which is a rare auto immune thing. (now im not saying this is the same scenario for you but its better safe than sorry girl!) hopefully you figure out what to do hun! and dont be embarassed, girls actually have trouble like this a lot, i didnt think so until i got admitted into the hospital and its almost kind if normal.
