When I was fourteen, I had a period that lasted for four months! I had to wear pads with wings every day and I got horrible rashes on that whole area and the insides of my thighs! I had big areas that were purple they were so irritated.
So I a) went to my gyno and talked to her about how long my period had been and made sure nothing was wrong and b) switched to cloth pads (they just feel like wearing another layer of underwear-- so soft and comfortable) and sometimes I use sea sponges (if you're comfortable with tampons, these might work for you). There are also diva cups that you can use as another alternative to pads.
If I were you, I would go see a gyno and make sure there is nothing wrong (there probably isn't). They will help you get your period straightened out, and if you are still having extra long periods then switch to an alternative product that doesn't irritate your skin down there!
