Ok, so I know my frends aren't the best influences, but this is a new one for me. My friend stabbed someone. I know this sounds fake, but I'm really freaking out. It was an honest accident, he's edgy and someone snuck up on him, and he feels really horrible. He's attempted suicide before and he's thinking about it again. I need some advice :'(

sooo....your friend STABBED someone ....and you feel sorry for HIM?
theres no such thing as an honest stabbing accident.
he shouldn't have been carrying a knife in the first place.
idk what kind of advice you want from us.but the only advice i could give is ....make him stop carrying knives and then he won't "accidentally" stab someone.
i'm sorry, i'm not having a go at you.............but your friend needs to quit carrying DEADLY weapons.
in australia, the police can stop anyone.....anywhere and run a metal detector over them. if you're carrying any kind of knife, box cutter, screwdriver.............anything that can cause injury, you can be arrested and charged.....and anyone nasty enough to carry something like that deserves all they get.
people carry stuff like that for a reason.......and it's got nothing to do with peeling an apple.

Ok, first of all yes it is against the law to carry weapons but if her friend has it for protection then maybe it was an accident my mom carries them for protection in this world you can never be more safe he probably had it a good reason and that person shouldnt have snuck up on him the only way you can carry weapons is if you work at a place that carry weapons like the army airforce the prison etc. and they have yto have a liscence but like I said in this world you can never be more safe cause of all the stuff that happens in the street

if he was carrying it for protection.....AND someone snuck up on him.............how come the knife wasn't in his pocket?
i guess he must've been "expecting" someone to sneak up on him.....................hmm ![]()
it'd be pretty hard to "accidentally" stab someone if it wasn't in his hands.

I totally get where you're coming from, and actually most people carry knives as tools, at least where I live. I know how it sounds, but please try to understand from my perspective. The person who was stabbed is ok, it wasn't very serious. I am pissed that he would do something like that, and a bit scared, but I can understand that he freaked out. It's actually really simple to ge a knife out in seconds, I have one (I keep it in the car because it has a seatbelt cutter and window spike in case of an accident), so please don't assume he intended to do it, the person he hurt was very close to him.

You shouldnt be the one freaking out... i know he is your friend but you should relax a bit..hah.
Carrying a knife is not a bad idea. My boyfriend, dad, and brother carry one. That doesnt mean that we dont live in a safe area because we do.. You just never know when you might need it. To defend yourself, if you need to cut your seatbelt if your stuck, as a tool, really anything. Like you said, someone can pull out a knife quickly. My boyfriend and dad can pull it out and pop it open in a matter of a sec. My brothers flips open. I would carry a knife but i would probably hurt myself haha. So with everyone saying its bad... its both bad and good. Depending where you live, you can carry one. No, you cant carry a hunting knife or something freakin huge. No, you cant be waving it in the air or show it in public places. Thats why you carry just a pocket knife. Nothing is wrong with this.
With your friend.. maybe he shouldnt be carrying one. If he is edgy, you never know when he can act. This is a good example of that. This is really bad that he stabbed someone but the guy is okay. That is all that matters and he needs to realize that. He shouldnt carry one until he can control himself in a sitution. If he wants too, he can tell the police. Yes, he will get introuble but not as much if the guy doesnt file for something. Again, depends where you live. He didnt kill any body or cause anything serious.. He should be happy about that and not be trying to harmself as well.

I hate to shy away from the original poster but...
"and anyone nasty enough to carry something like that deserves all they get."
That's absolutely, positively ridiculous. Get threatened with a gun while in town and in your vehicle like I did and see if you don't consider going out and getting a weapon for yourself. A man threatened me with a gun and the very next day I went out and got a taser. It stays in my Mustang but, mind you, I am not a purse carrier so I wouldn't be able to carry it on me personally. I would if I could. I am not "nasty." Nor did I deserve to get threatened with a gun. Do I deserve "all I get" if I was to use my taser on someone trying to attack me? It's one thing for someone to carry around a weapon just for the hell of it and to show it off and act like they're macho but there are a lot of people (women especially) in this world that need to carry something on them to make them feel more secure in case the situation arises. I'm not nasty for this.

How can you expcet someone to sneak up on you?! You can never expect that from someone my mom can pull her pocket knife out in a matter of secondes like really you wouldn't know cause you don't carry a pocket knife my sister even has one she is 15 years old and she can even do it and you seriously can't expect someone to sneak up on you

BS, most people are not carrying knives as tools. The likelyhood of someone walking up on you, you pulling it out, and stabbing them in a snab motion is pretty slim. He would have turned around, had to pull out his knife, and then stab. Yeah....that's realistic.

Yeah, it is realistic and No, its not BS. You act like you would have to take steps in order to defend yourself. He can, very easy, pull out the knife while quickly turning and stab, in a snap motion. When your scared, your body can act quickly without even thinking. If someone is attacking you, are you going to slowly act to defend yourself? Or act quickly?
Its not like the guy had the knife in his shoe and had to bend down to get it. If he had his hand already near his pocket or even in his pocket, he can just pull it out with ease.
