Props to pot

A while back, another gurls post caught my eye. It was an article about a mother who is a regular pot smoker. It caught a lot of attention. It was rather normal to me. I used to smoke everyday all day, before I became pregnant with my daughter. Obviously motherhood chaned a woman, or Atleast most women. The day I found I was pregnant, I stopped smoking. Ive never had any qualms over mothers smoking. Some of the best mothers light up. I just personally didn't ever know if I'd find my way back to herb. But, some things parenthood can't change. I started back to smoking recently. It makes daily tasks a breeze, and makes me even more intrigued with my daughter, if that's even possible since she's my number one gal.

Anywho, what's everyone else's opinion on the matter? How many of you mothers smoke? Does it make daily hassles like doing housework less sucky? How long have you smoked? Are any of you concerned or frusterated with the label society stamps on you as a pot smoking momma? How to you feel on the debate over pot smoking parents vs wine/alcohol consuming parents? Is any one more wrong than the other in your opinion?

All thoughts/opinions welcome.

Re: Props to pot

I know I'm not a mom, but I do have fitting criteria, I suppose.

A lot of people in my family do, especially my mom. She's been doing it ever since she was little, and even when she was pregnant with us, and we came out fine. (I guess I came out the most normal though, my brother and sister got her crazy gene.)

To be honest, I don't think it does anything for her, because she's always stressed out. I also think she's a little dependent on it; she says she can go without it, but she does smoke on a daily basis. It's not my concern, but I think it's a waste of money.

I've never really found anything wrong with smoking weed, except it gives me panic attacks, so I don't mess with it. My body can't handle the high feeling, I guess. I think there is some kind of dependency on it, though it's more of an emotional need, not a physical one. Some people seem to get a bit irritable. This doesn't apply to everyone, obviously.

Re: Props to pot

well to be completely honest, i called you out in an unrelated post about your pot use and your baby's picture. i guess i was quick to judge, but just to have you know, i wasn't making assumptions. i guess it was just weird to me to see "i smoke lots of pot" and then the pictures.

with that said, i smoke daily. i am not a mother, but i have friends that are and smoke daily. my mother smokes daily. she used marijuana and other drugs during pregnancy. in my personal case, i was neglected a lot because of drugs. i wouldn't attribute it to pot use itself, but it was involved.

i also see my pot head mama friends who are anything but neglectful, and use it as a way to calm stress and nerves. i see nothing wrong with this, or having a glass of wine. when it's overboard, and you refuse to get off the couch and take a fork away from a toddler because your high (for example), that it bothers me.

personally, i LOVE marijuana and am a huge advocate for responsible use. for me it helps to focus, to control my emotions and rationality, as well as lots of other benefits. i don't think it is necessarily good for everyone, though. i dunno. just my thoughts.

Re: Props to pot

Raycheezi,
I don't recall the whole calling out, but Ill take your word for it. After all that you have said on the subject, I'm not really understanding why you would have felt the need to "call me out" on my use of marijuana. It's probably the mom thing. All I can say about that, is motherhood is an experience unlike any other, and until someone has experienced it, I take their criticism with a grain of salt (as far as what they would or would not do as a mother).

I find it a little irritating when some smokers use pot as a crutch, or feel like they need it to cope with their life, so i fully understand where you and others are coming from on that. It makes the rest of the people who smoke look bad. Not everyone smokes for those reasons. And in my opinion, if your life sucks that bad, pot is not gonna help you man.

Re: Props to pot

Lmao. Pot is one of the most organic things used for medicinal purposes that you could ever put into your body. Your more Likely to die from Advil before weed.

Re: Props to pot

Shubert56 That is such a freaking immature response -_-

After reading many of your posts on here and hearing you are a committed vegetarian (or vegan, I forget) I think it's fine if you smoke it once in a while. You sound like a good mother who knows what she's doing and I respect you.
