 Just because you're married and have a child doesn't mean anything, plenty of people use it and don't seem to understand the context. It is a big deal, it's offensive to a lot of people. I understand it doesn't offend you, but don't brush it off as not a big deal.

Forreal! I wasn't thinking about sex when I was 10.. Never in my freaking life have I ever seen such **bleep**.. An people wonder why all these little girls are popping out babies.. They having sex at freaking 10 and 12 years old.. Its crazy and i think its bad parenting if you let your little girl go and do that at the age, im sure the little girl hasnt even had her first period yet. They need to chill with the slut talk. Their reputation isn't going to be good as they get older.

You two were were jumping on the phrase because it was apparently immature. Not because it was offensive. I happen to think its neither. Sure, retarded has become politically incorrect, and I understand that. But we all say things that are seemingly offensive, in a non-offense way. So, in this situation, I do see it as no big deal. Im a grown woman, and entitled to my opinon. thanks.

 Okay, I wasn't trying offend anyone by using the word "retarded" I happen to use that word often without offending anyone. Yes, its not very mature but I dont see why you people are making a big deal about it.

I think it's rediculous that everyone's getting mad over the word "retarded" when in reality, this post could have been a REALLY great debate on how kids are maturing so much faster then we did growing up. There is no difference in retarded, stupid, dumb, lame, etc. So I'll expect to see you two get upset over everytime one of those words are used as well. 

Anyways.

My cousin is 13 and several of her friends have already had sex. When I was 13 this was unheard of. Most girls where I went to school didn't even know what 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base even meant. 

I also wonder if we will eventually start seeing more pregnant 14 and 15 year olds? Society gets upset over 16 and pregnant, what happens when it's little kids like that? It's scary to think. 

I know a lot of women I went to HS with that got pregnant at 16. 4 out of the 5 are doing AWFUL. One is doing great. Supportive family, boyfriend, lives on their own, they're very happy. But the others honestly, were just not mature enough, and never got their deploma, GED, license, or still have not had their first job (all 21 through 23 right now) It's very sad, considering the ones that couldn't support themselves to begin with, PLANNED a baby while STILL in High school.

Sometimes I think younger people forget they're not having a baby, they're having a little person that will be 2, 3, 4 years old. Will go to school, will cry when they have to leave their mom, will have tantrums, will talk back, and even possibly, start having sex at 12, and be pregnant by 16. Babies don't stay babies forever.

I'm not actually mad about it. I believe it's offensive and it's an immature thing to say because it's offensive to some people. I didn't like it because she's still calling someone else retarded, as opposed to thinking some idea or situation is "retarded". Excuse me for saying something. Jeez.
