I've had a nose stud since more than a year ago and had some bumps and minor infections, but 2 days ago i lost my last stud and bought another one that's too small so it's pressing my nostril, i bought another one to change it but now my nose is so swollen i can't even see the stud without pushing it from inside, so i obviously can't take it out. I took ibuprofen and cleaned it with betadine but it's still swollen and feels hot. A friend told me to wait and it'll get better but I'm scared it might get worse and have a  serious infection. What do I do??

I would take it out, you can always get it re pierced. Infections aren't something to mess around with, especially so close to your sinuses.

thanks for replying! I just freaked out a bit, but I've been taking ibuprofen and disinfecting it and it's much better now
