why do people pierce their lips, belly button, hips, etc. Most people don't think it looks good,

Because it's a way to express themselves and i highly doubt any of those people with facial and body piercings care what anyone thinks about them.

Because everyone is different and likes different things. At one point a few years ago I had my labret, snakebites and monroe done all at one time so I had a lot of shiny silver in my face, lol, and only a few people liked it. Most people hated it and stared! But I loved it.

it's all about expression. a lot of people are critical of it, but its more of a part of our self identity than what they realize. i'm guessing you're not really into the piercings, but it's like doing your hair a certain way, wearing certain make-up or perfume every day, or wearing jewelry, just more permanent. it can be like tattoos in the way of signifying our place in the world, just for aesthetics, things we've overcome, or just simply not giving a sh*t. and that's okay! it's who we are. it doesn't matter what other people think of it. if you go into it already knowing you may be judged, doesn't that give you a strong sense of confidence? be yourself i don't have a lot of piercings myself, but i think there's some really beautiful people out there that are covered in piercings. don't judge, we're all unique

Its expressing ourselves! I used to have a lip piercing  but i had to take it out. :/ I might get my lip re-pierced and im thinking about getting my hips and belly button pierced. Its just...Expression!
