He laughed. "Now, darling, I wouldn't want you to know how much of a failure I really am." He didn't like to give such things away that easily. He knew, ofcourse, he could trust her but he didn't like the idea of being so exposed.
"Your anything but a failure." Eden told him. They hadn't really known each other for long but there was something in him that, despite his efforts to keep it hidden, shined through and she knew he wasn't as bad as he thought he was. "Your way too hard on yourself."
"Well someone's got to be." He shrugged. Atleast, if he was harder on himself, it softened the blows he got from other people. She was yet to find out how terrible he was but he knew that when she did, she'd probably think he was a fail too - just like the rest.
"Good. Now are you about done because I think you should take me to your apartment for the night." she said with sly smirk before finishing the rest of her drink.
He would've finished the rest of his whiskey but then he didn't want to crash the car so he just sipped some of his water before getting up. "Alright, but I'm warning you now, it's a little...chaotic." Messy was probably a better word but he didn't want to scare her off.
"I don't mind. You should see my dorm. Its always a mess." She pointed out with a laugh. Sharing a bedroom with a random person tended to cause untidiness.
"Ah, how is that? having a roomie?" Personally, Artie knew he hated that sort of stuff. He liked to have his own space and privacy. He paid the cheque before taking her hand and leading her out to the car.
