What I loved most about theater is that when you're on stage, you really cannot see the audience. Obviously, it depends on the lights and all that, but for the most part, the audience felt like the faceless mass of people rather than individuals. Truthfully, the only reason you suck at going in front of crowds is because you've convinced yourself you do. I mean, you've rehearsed your lines about a thousand times and you know your part. What is there to suck at? The play is the same regardless of an audience being there so just go out there and say your lines the way you've practiced them, and you'll be fine.
Best part? They don't know your lines! They don't know what the play is supposed to look like. So, even if you mess up, who cares? They won't know unless you start freaking out about it and you make it obvious.
