about six months ago, i contracted genital herpes. i have done LOTS of research thru the net, and asked my nurse mother lots of questions. the thing is... everyone says something different!!!

i have been having protected sex with someone, and they show no symptoms. the thing is, i have not been honest about it with him. i don't let him perform oral sex on ME, but i'm just worried that i've already infected him. that's something that will totally devestate me for one, but i also am not ready to fess up to him. i would hate me if i were him. ugh. i dunno what i should do here.

I'm right there with you. I don't know how to tell my boyfriend and I would be devasted if he caught it. I don't have a serious case of herpes, but it still scares me. I'm scared of how he might react.

i've thought about telling him that it was a new discovery, playing the stupid card. i guess that is selfish and rotten.

i'm just totally scared that he will freak, or be disgusted with me. i hate having this stigma that when people find out, all i will ever be to them is a big herpes sore. BLAH.

I think you should be honest with your boyfriend because if he finds out without you telling him, he could possibly lose all respect and trust for you. You do not want to keep a relationshipi with untruthfulness. If he really loves you, he will still love you , and support you, even if it is difficult for him at first. I was diagnosed last month as well. You should really tell him though, he has the right to know. Imagine how you would feel if he had something and didn't tell you.. If he really loves you he will stand by you. If not, that's not someone you should want to be with anyways.

HSV 1 is herpes infection of the mouth that causes cold sores. HSV 2 is the genital herpes. You should tell him either way and be honest because that is something you live with for ever.

that was my diagnosis, and was told that it TYPICALLY was the oral strain. also, to everyone telling me to be honest, he's been having sex with a friend of mine and does not have herpes. didn't we all just luck out on this situation. :/

You can't really diagnose herpes until a blister begins to form, when they would take a sample (of the pus or whatever) and then properly diagnose it then. Herpes can remain dormant for years with a person never knowing that they have it.

Even though I can probably assume that the two of you are broken up, I think you should tell him. He's going to be pissed as hell, but I think it's safer for him and for other girls that he at least knows that he's possibly at risk.

You honestly need to tell him. I know that you're afraid of what he might think. But how would you feel if he had it and he didn't tell you? You'd be mad wouldn't you?

Girl listen I'm in the same boat and scared as hell I was drugged and rapes while my bf was in jail and came up with herpes we been together 2 years and I jus found out and idk how to tell him plus I'm 6 weeks prego
