i think i like a guy whos closer in age to my little sister than he is to me...
hes 13 months younger than me, and only 5 months older than my sister. hes also in her grade---

its not like theyre friends, they dont even know each other. we met through a music club at school.

i just feel really weird about the whole situation and im wondering if you guys think its wrong and i should just nip it in the bud?

when i was in high school there was no way i'd date someone a grade lower..  it's like a double standard that it's ok when the guy is older but an older girl is pretty weird..

i did change my mind at 20... i realized that a year younger isn't too bad.. if i was a teen again i wouldn't have a problem dating someone a year younger but 2 years makes a difference.. when you grow up each year is significant.  there's a difference between a 17+16 year old than 16+14.. 

i think that if the feeling is mutual go for it.

I think it's ok. When I was 19 I dated someone a year younger. He was pretty mature for his age.. taking care of himself, cooking for himself and everything but emotionally I was still more mature.

I like posted something exactly like this a few days ago, the guy I like is in the year below me. I've just turned 17 and he's turning 16 in July(sounds like ages ikr) but everyone has told me too just be like "whatever" and not care about age issues. I now see the light and am hoping to have a relationship with the guy

I think it is perfectly fine! My boyfriend is 2 years younger than me, he's 18 and I'm 20, and we have been together for over a year! Things are wonderful and I think it just depends on the person, not so much on the age difference.

trust me its fine! , im 11 and this boy i went out wiv was 13! but it was a fine relasionship. and i guess its sorta better to go out with someone older because they are more mature and better to talk to and much smarter!!

Age is only an issue when you make it an issue. As long as you are both legal (which you are) it doesn't really matter. I think it is important to be with someone based on who they are not necessarily because of age.

Now this may be different if you were like in your 30s and he was just hitten his 20s, only because you'd most likely be in different areas in your life. He may be into partying and you might be more responsible and set up. But really, 16 and 17? That's nothing...

I think it's fine. I'm 19 and I dated a 16 year old.

Besides, having him date an older woman gave him more popularity points!

I'm currently a senior (18 in April) and I have been dating my boyfriend (a sophomore, 16 in February) for a year and a quarter. We met through band (relating to your music club) and he is one of the best people I know!

As long as you like him and he treats you well then I say go for it!

My boyfriend is 13 months younger than me and we actually started dating when I was 17 and he was 16. He was my first boyfriend and we have been dating for almost 3 years now he is now 19 and I'm 20. I have no problem with it. I think girls that won't date a guy just because he is a bit younger than her is stupid lol. My little sister who is 16 now is one of those girls who think it is weird when a girl dates a younger guy. Even though my mom is older than my dad by a few months, I'm older than my boyfriend, (and I think even my older sister might be older than her boyfriend).
