So my best friend and i have been besties since junior year of high school. And after I got kicked out in october she offered to be my roommate and i accepted. We've been living together since the middle of november and it has been a total disaster. and I've gotten plenty of the we told you so's and all the other typical stuff from friends. but honestly i need an outside opinion.
right after we moved in the guy she has been seeing on and off for 3 years just started staying with us. his name isn't on the lease and he doesn't do anything around the house. and they aren't even really together right now! I've brought up to her many times that he needs to help pay some off the bills or rent. but everytime I bring it up she gets this look like shes going to cry and says she doen't want to ask because she's afraid he won't stay at our place anymore. so this last time i asked her to tell him to start taking the trash to the curb for garbage days. and i even mentioned it to him. because i fell and hurt my back and have to go to physical therapy for back spasms. so i can't be dragging a can down a hill in 10 inches of snow I get home from work tonight and they are both here and i looked and the garbage can is sitting next to the porch. needless to say i was furious but i refuse to mention anything because she's on my last nerve and the next time she gets an attitude with me im afraid ill explode. so i texted a few friends and my mom to tell them about my day. and my mom ended up sending my dad over at 1 in the morning to move the can so i didn't get hurt. And this is just the tip of the iceburg i could go on and on for hours.
I guess what i want to know is since she won't ask him to pay rent is it ok for me to ask him to help out with bills and rent if he won't help around the house? or is that overstepping my boundary? Im stuck in the lease for a year or until i can save enough money to get a new place and sublease out my half of the rent. HELP!!!
