curly hair issues -.-"

ok, i'm 17 years old and i have super curly hair, like imagine those old type China dolls that have corkscrew curls, that's my hair type. I'm half black and half white so that's why my hair is the way it is. Kids used to always make fun of my hair because my mom and I didn't know how to take care of it yet. I'd always bursh it while it was dry and it would frizz like crazy. Kids were cruel so my mom cut my hair for me (she was a hystylist so I had no problem) that was about 9 years ago, my hair hasnn't grown sense! It's about shoulder length and it drives my cuckcoo! Are there any tips that can help me with my hair? Or any for dry scalp?

I have cury hair too. I like using natural products for curly hair like Kinky Curly Knot Today (leav-in) then I apply Kinky Curly Curling Custard. Those are available at curlmart.com and I think walmart or target sells them too. Another good product to try is the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie available at walgreens and I think Kmart or Target has it too. Just check out the Shea Moisture line. It's really good and affordable.

As for dry scalp, you should do hot oil treatments once or twice a week. Heat up olive oil and coconut oil and apply it to your scalp. Let it sit for an hour or overnight, then just wash it out with shampoo. You can even put a few drops of tea tree oil into the hot oil mixture.

I also have curly hair and understand your suffering! haha

For me, I use herbal essence shampoo and conditioner. Also, L'Oreal has this new curly shampoo/conditioner in a blue bottle that is good, but may be expensive depending on the store. I prefer the herbal essence curly shampoo (it smells like sweet tarts!) When I get out of the shower I use a purple comb to get through it. Then I put mousse and hairspray on it to make it less frizzy. (:

I've always had reallllly curly frizzy hair so i know exactly how much elementary and middle school sucked hair wise lol :smileyhappy:. if your worried about length definately get Biotin, it will help your hair and nails grow strong, healthy, and fast. Use it as directed.

Ive tried alot of shampoos and conditioners and i can name about 3 brands that i will never stop using because i absolutely love how they repaired my hair and made it feel really silky. Wen products http://www.wenhaircare.com/  (which i dont use as much as i really wish i could (and boy i wish i could lol) because of how expensive it is). this needs to be ordered online.

Suave Professionals Sleek shampoo and conditioner http://www.suave.com/products/Professionals/Shampoo-Conditioner/Sleek.aspx also suave has a new keratin shampoo and conditioner which definately smooths out my frizz.

And Aussie Miraculously Smooth http://aussie.com/en_US/miraculously-smooth . which smellls absolutely amazing.
you can find these in Walmart Or any drug store.

I also deep condition my hair once a week or whenever it feels too dry and damaged. I love the Aussie 3 minute miracle, Garnier Sleek and shine conditioner.

But what you do in the shower is only half the battle when it comes to curly hair. if you have any styling products always apply it on wet or damp hair depending on how much of the product you want. you dont want to end up with crispy curls.

I only ever really use mouse depending if its humid or not outside. And only from Aussie (miraculously smooth mousse) because most mouses contain alcohol and it drys out your hair and makes it frizzy.

After i ring out all the excess water from my hair after my shower, I always blow dry my hair with a diffuser attachment (if i dont have time to let it air dry.) Also i brush through my hair with a paddle brush less breakage mines is from Conair also find that at a walmart.

I would stay away from products containing alcohol and sulfate

thats pretty much everything ive learned over the years lol when it comes to my curly hair. I embrace my curls now :smileytongue: cause believe it or not most people pay to have what we were born with :smileyhappy: good luck.
