So I am 16 and my mom and I don't see eye to eye on my wearing heals. For homecoming they were about 3.5 or four inches. And not to mention they were my first pair... Ever. Now that I have worn heals I feel pretty and confident (I have a lot of self confidence issues and am trying to break out of my shell). That said, I now am on the market for shoes (my closet is all school shoes and flats [and I am short, 5'3]) and am finding that heals are more...my style. Now I'm not looking for towering stilettos, but I want some height. My mom's argument is that the heals I want (around 3 inches) are too high! I do not plan to wear them to school on a daily basis, perhaps on a dress down day or special day. I just can't seem to get her to understand that I don't feel confident in my height and clothing at all and that when I do feel good she doesn't like what I choose. Any help in how I can persuade her to let me grow up??

Your approach is important when asking your parents for something.
Avoid saying: "But every other girl has a pair!" and "I want..." And no whining. That would be immature and that will lower your chances of getting one. Be mature, calm, and collected.
If that doesn't work. You can always sneak a pair of heels and ask a friend to hide it for you. x)

Just tell her way you want to start wearing heels alot more, tell her they boost your confidence and make you feel great about yourself. Talk to her like you're an adult so that's no whining or pouting. If she's still not going for it try to compromise, you can get a pair of wedge sneakers they offer hieght with out being to sexy
Best of Luck
