Cutting & Self Mutilation Recovery

Okay, so I don't cut but I am having a hard time in life. So me and my friend were bored so we decided that we would right quotes all over her body, so that meant she was only in a sports bra and really short shorts. So I was on the back of her thigh, and I noticed a few cuts, thinking it was an accident or something I dismissed it. But when I pulled up her shorts just below her butt pretty much to right one of the quotes, I noticed a box made out of cuts which had a big "X"
In it and the was going in different ways, there was no way this was accidental. So I asked her about it and she said nothing really quickly so I just decided to make a joke out of it and say "did you fall on a symbol?" And she laughed. The week before that she said she had started cutting herself during the and hasn't stopped, I didn't know if she was just saying that or not, but yeah. Do think it was cuts she did to herself and if so how should I approach it, because I am really mad at her for
Doing that but it is her life, but I want to talk to her about it.

dont be angry with her. this is something that people use to relieve stress or sadness. the best way to talk to her about it would be just to sit down with her and tell her that you are worried and just want to make sure she is going to be alright. re assure her and let her know that you are there for her when she needs someone to talk. offer her other suggestions on what to do instead of cutting. just remember that if she knows you are angry at her about it she will shut down and not say anything to you. be calm and approach it respectfully and calmly. hope i helped!!
