I like him but could it work??

I'm 14, I'm a little overweight and deffinately not the prettiest girl, I've never been asked out and I have a crush on this guy in my class. I don't want to date till I'm 16 but I'm questioning that. Even if I did want to date him NOW I wouldn't cause I would be too scared to ask him. I guess my questions are should I stick with my rule about dating and if I did ask him out, how? Plus I'm freaked out that guys won't like me because I'm a little overweight and at my age the guys might not look past that! Blaaah! Life is soo confusing!!

If you dont want to date him now dont rush yourself into it! Talk to him and let him know the real you, after a while if you still like him, tell him. He will not know if he likes you if you dont talk to him. People deffinetly do judge about your  looks first when they dont talk to you but thats ok becase you dont have your personality taped to your forhead. If you talk to him he will get attracted to your personality and everything about will seem even more beutiful! Im overweight in my point of veiw too!  If you are not ready dont date him but if you are GO for it!

Re: I like him but could it work??

I think that you are smart to want to wait until you are 16. I actually tell most girls your age that they are better off waiting until after high school to date. Most of the time, not all, but most of the time, high school relationships don't work out and you can save yourself a lot of hurt if you wait. Guys in high school are not mature enough for real, committed relationships. And most girls your age aren't either.

I would encourage you to wait until you are older. Someday a guy will come around who will like you for who you are regardless of your weight. Be patient and trust your instincts.

Message me if you'd like to. I understand how you feel for sure.
