I'm 16 and I think I am starting to have a crush on someone I don't even know (I only spoke to him for like 2 minutes and that's about it). I just can't stop thinking about him. It's just a stupid, meaningless crush but it's driving me crazy. I know it's extremely stupid but I just HAVE to stop thinking about him because last time I had a crush like that (on someone I barely knew and whose attitude is very similar to the new crush) I turned into a completely different person for a while and ended up wishing to die.
What I am basically asking for is some tips to forget about him quickly. It's not going to be too difficult because 1) I don't know him at all, and 2) it's very fresh.
And I know that the fact that I hated myself because of a previous crush doesn't mean it will happen every time I have a crush on someone, but I'm finally starting to find my happy place and I don't want to turn into an obsessed weirdo again, and I KNOW he's not the right guy for me.
Thank you![]()
p.s. I have no idea why I have feelings for a stranger. It's not because of his looks, he's not that hot.

dude it's totes normal to get crushes in an instant, trust me i've had loads. If you know for certain that it will never happen, just don't bother yourself about him. If its not that easy then try putting yourself off of him, thats what I did-for example if I saw him teasing someone in a banter sort of way, in my head I'd make it seem as if he was being a bully. I know it's hard to turn off these emotions, but you've just got to tell yourself 'No, im not doing this again, i'm not getting my hopes up for nothing' ![]()

I suppose you're right, but it's really hard for me not to get over-enthusiastic when I see him and not try looking for him everywhere at school and not get disappointed when what I want to happen doesn't happen, etc. I know there's no easy way to do that and the best thing to do is to wait till it's over, but until then I'm really suffering. it's like nothing interests me anymore but him and it's so unhealthy lol.
thank you for replying ![]()
