"So when do you use your powers?" She asked, sipping her drink.
-
"Want to see the rest of the house?" Jack asked.

"If needed but rarely," He told her.
--
"Um, sure," Maggie chuckled nervously.

"Can you show me something?" Isobel asked, wanting to see if he what he could do.
-
"No more dungeons, I promise." Jack laughed and shut the door behind them before putting the bookcase back infront of it.

"Like what?" Brooks asked with a smirk.
--
"Good, anymore secret coridoors?" She asked.

"Anything. You're the warlock." She shrugged.
-
"Upstairs." Jack nodded. "There's a lot to the house that people don't know."

Brooks took a sip of his drink before waving his hand, a rose appeared. He smirked as he handed it to her.
-
"I want to see," Maggie told him, "As long as there aren't anymore dying vampires."

"Very cute." Isobel smirked and took the rose from him.
-
"I don't think so." Jack laughed. "Theres some pretty cool stuff though."

"I do what I can," Brooks teased, finishing off his glass of brandy.
--
"Well lead the way," Maggie smiled.

"You should show off your magic tricks more often." Isobel told him.
-
"I think the next one is upstairs." He said, going toward the stairs.

"Like I said, they're only used if absolutely necessary." Brooks told her.
-
Maggie nodded him as she followed up the stairs, looking at the many portraits along the walls.
?

"Like I said, you should use them more often." She told him.
-
"that's my family." Jack said after seeing her look at the portraits. "Now that my parents are gone, their portraits are going up too."

"We'll see," Brooks smirked, taking a sip of his drink.
-
"It's like royalty," She still remembered when she sat for her first portrait as a princess.

Isobel took another drink and looked around. "Would you like to dance?"
-
"I guess so. Blackwoods sure like to think they're royalty." He smirked.?

Brooks finished his drink before holding his hand up to her.
--
"Around here you all basically are," Maggie pointed out.

Isobel set her empty glass down and took his hand.
-
"We're nothing out in the real world." Jack reminded her.

He smiled as he went out onto the dance floor with her.
-
"Do you like it that way?" Maggie asked him.

"Enjoy dancing do you?" Isobel asked.
-
"I like blending in." Jack said. "Nothing good comes from this place."

"It's something I'm actually good at," Brooks smirked as he took her hand in his.
-
"You're one of the few to get away," Maggie said.

"And you don't even need magic." She smirked and put her other hand to his shoulder.
-
"only one besides uncle Brooks." Jack pointed out.

"I don't need it for a lot of things," Brooks smirked as he began to dance with her.
--
"Yet you both got dragged back, will you be able to escape again?" Maggie teased with a smirk.

"Thats impressive." Isobel smirked as they danced.
-
"As long as Brooks wants to take over without me." He nodded.

"Like I said, I'm nothing like my brother," Brooks said.
-
"Do you think he will?" She asked.

"So I see." Isobel smiled. "I think I might prefer you over Alistair."
-
"I don't know. We haven't really talked about it." Jack shrugged.

Brooks scoffed, "Is that so?"
-
Maggie nodded, "I'd get out of here with the first chance I got."

"Maybe." Isobel smirked. "Alistair was...difficult, to say the least."
-
"so why don't you?" Jack asked. "Your mom can't control you. If you want to go, then go."

"I think difficult is putting it nicely," Brooks said.
-
"You don't think I've tried?" Maggie chuckled, "I'm over 700 years old technically, I've tried on numerous occassions to leave. It's part of the reason we moved here in the first place."

"Its rude to speak ill of the dead." Isobel pointed out.
-
"Thats a long time to be miserable." Jack said. He couldn't imagine being stuck with his parents that long. "You could kill her." he half teased.

"Not when they were family," Brooks teased.
"
"Believe me, I've thought about it," Maggie said, "But I'd never be able to go through with it."

"He wasn't my family so I'll speak kindly." Isobel smirked.
-
"Well if you ever decide to run, my offer still stands. I can do a good cloaking spell." He told her.

"By all means do," Brooks smirked, "You may be the only one," He teased.
--
"I honestly may take you up on that someday, but I'll let you know," She chuckled.

"You want me to speak ill of him?" Isobe alughed.
-
"Until then, you could hide out up here." He said, opening a secret door behind a painting.

"No, you said you'd speak kindly, so please do," Brooks chuckled.
-
Maggie followed him into a hallway behind the painting, "This is incredible."

"Let me think, what's something nice I can say about your brother?" Isobel teased, picking her brain. "He was a strong leader. Difficult but strong."
-
"The house was built in the 17th century. The fear was that humans would end up attacking us with a mob armed with?pitchforks so they built these secret passageways to escape." Jack explained.

"You don't think I'll be able to live up to him?" Brooks asked.
-
"The castle I grew up in had those, in case England decided to invade." Maggie told him.

"You're not as stern as he was." Isobel said. "He wasn't an evil man but he wasn't compassionate either. He used fear to keep his people in line and I respected that. You may be a better leader but I don't believe you'll use his tactics."
--
"then you should feel right at home here." Jack teased. "So you lived in a castle? Were you royalty or the help?"
